Air Conditioning

When the temperature outside begins to rise, many people seek the cool comfort of indoor air conditioning. To some people, an air conditioner is purely a luxury but to others, it’s simply a necessity. This guide will discuss the important issues that are relevant when you are considering getting an air conditioner in your home.

Types of air conditioners:

Room AC

Split air conditioners / central air conditioners

Technically speaking, a split-system air conditioner splits the hot side from the cold side of the system. Instead of having the whole mechanism in the same place like the window unit, the split systems has the condensing unit outside. These systems are larger and are typically used as central air conditioner units. The cool air is generated using the same principle as other air conditioners and it is then sent to the various rooms via a series of ducts. Central air conditioners typically require a professional installation.

Cassette air conditioners

Cassette units work the same way as wall-hung split system units, with the difference being that cassettes are installed into the ceiling instead of on the wall. The indoor unit itself sits flush to your ceiling and distributes conditioned air through two, three or four sides of the unit. The outdoor unit of a cassette air conditioner is mounted outside, in much the same way as it would be for a conventional wall mounted split system unit.

Floor Mounted AC

Floor air conditioner is another type of air conditioner unit that is commonly used in places such as restaurants, halls, hotels, data centers. The reason for its name is obvious in that it is basically standing on the floor. Other types of indoor units are the wall mounted, ducted, ceiling exposed, portable and window.

These fan coil units are all located indoor. The outdoor unit or condensers are located outside the building where the heat is rejected through the vapor compression cycle.

These two units are all that is required for the air conditioning system to function. They are connected to each other through the copper tubes which are the gas and liquid lines.

Commercial AC

VRF AC

It can easily be related to as the “Rolls Royce” of Air Conditioning Systems. It’s a very sophisticated technological air conditioning system, based on several principles:

Refrigerant only – where the refrigerant is the only coolant material in the system (in contrary to the chilled water systems, where the refrigerant is used for cooling/heating the water that is circulated throughout the whole system).
Inverter compressors that allow lowering power consumption with partial cooling/heating loads.
Several air handlers (indoor units) on the same refrigerant loop/circuit.
Ability of modular expansion (especially applicable for large projects, that can grow in stages).

Ductable AC

We all are extremely grateful to this new era of technology. Isn’t it? Extraordinary things are no magic. It is the result of the relentless hard work, proficient thinking and innovation, and an endless quest for excellence. One must know the detailing of the ductable split units and packaged air conditioning system in HVAC. This will be easier for you to choose the suitable one that will solve your purpose.

The ductable split units help in cooling the conditioned space with the duct network. These units require less floor space. As the name suggests, the ductable split units work basically through a series of ducts in order to keep you cool during the hot summer days. They consist of an internal fan coil which is installed in the roof area of the home.

· Through the ducts, it keeps heating and cooling each of your room individually. This is called zoning. The thermostat present on the wall will allow you to select the preferable temperature and other settings.
